35 years in the travel industry.  She began her career as a stewardess for a major airline in 1972 (renamed flight attendant in 1974). After marriage and motherhood she became a sales representative for that same airline in 1976 until she took a position as Director of Meetings and Conventions for a large regional travel management company  in 1985.  In 1991 Laurie became an account manager and quickly rose to ranks of Vice President National Accounts in 1995.  This is a position she held through an acquisition of the agency in 2003.  Laurie’s entrepreneurial spirit along with a strong belief in making every trip “special” for her clients/travelers led her to begin the creation of LXR Travel in 2007 with handpicked, top-of-the-industry travel experts.  Heidi Weitzsacker-Phillips and Irene Favata became her Founding Directors.  We are honored by the trust of our ever growing list of travelers and corporate clients that we like to "spoil" every day.  We will never lose sight of the fact that our travelers and clients are the foundation of our very business existance.

Laurie is a member of the Board of Directors of New York State Business Travel Association, a subscribing member of Business Travel Coalition, Amherst Chamber of Commerce and is active on the NYSBTA Political Action Committee.

Irene has been a premier agent for over 32 years.  Not only was she the office manager for NFT Travel in East Aurora, NY until the closing in 2003 due to the acquisition by The Travel Team, but also was the agent of choice for her many corporate clients.  Irene’s travels, experience, thirst for knowledge and continuing education allows her to find not only the best pricing, but also the best in traveler-experience/satisfaction.  Once a traveler has worked with Irene, they are “hooked” on her service.  Irene is also eager to push the limits on traveler offerings by associating with a group of expert agents whose common goal is to “make every trip special”.
